Capreol Writers Page - Verses
It's winter in Canada
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At forty-five below.

Oh, how I love Canada
When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave Canada
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground!!

My Town

This once prosperous town named Capreol
Where the Vermillion River may call
To the nature lovers, bathers and all
Inaugurated in 1918, recall
The reason for existence is not small.
Canadian National Railway befall
Generations of railwaymen stand tall.
Steam to diesel locomotive install
Less manpower of trade on the long haul.
Life stories from this small town will enthral
And instil pride in residing in Capreol.

Your World

Gathering might from my head to my toe
I twisted the blade into my long time foe
An intense longing began to bloat
My amateur rival now in the sky's remote

The yearning is no fault of losing a foe, my lord
Many glorious battles await my wielding sword
A thought washed over me from a distant heaven
Oh, Where Art Thou, thy Brown Eyes_007

Wiping the bloody blade of my trusted sword
I sheathed it with the confidence of a king, my lord
With the pain throbbing inside my swelling chest
My magic pen scribed this rhyme travelling west

Oh, Where Art Thou, thy Brown Eyes_007
Do you have sisters and is fire your arsenal
Are you the one who is the most professional
When will you attend my prescribed confessional

A small taste of your luscious flesh is all I favour
Don't blame my lord when I eternally yield to your flavour
It is with undying love and longing I have finally written
Your World is a wonderful place to stay, I am fully certain.

Who Am I

Wandering minds is all they are
Plenty of distance to voyage this world thus far
The Sheep grazing on the plain’s grassy edge
Fear and courage inspired an indecisive wedge

A watchful eye on the lazing flock
Fortifying the circle for those who rebel and balk
The Sheep Dog silently inhales grateful breaths
Masterly tasked to prevent unwanted deaths

Where are the Wolves one must warily ask
Must we loyally journey, must we patiently bask
The Shepherd secretly ponders this eternal question
Searching within to resolve this uncertain tension

Not into gospel I am convinced not nearly alone
I turned to God sitting on his huge heavenly throne
Who Am I cited in this fabled prose, I swiftly spied
With a synchronized smile, wink and a nod
God had rightly rectified.

Again another great poem. If this keeps up we could put together a book. Stories and poems about Capreol for the 80th (is it eighty or ninety approaching?) anniversary of the town.

Letting Go

A piece of my heat and soul is intertwined with yours forever.

I spoke softly into your ear for the last time on a cold winters night, I let you go and it was not a delight. You were bound for better and more beautiful beginnings. The end was nowhere in sight. It is why I let you go to explore your very own new flight.

My heart was broken, apiece went with you. I stole a piece of yours to guide me through all the rest of my life. Your friendship lingers in my dreams; you are such a wonderful sight.

We may never have the chance to meet again, hold hands while walking through the sand. Your one last touch holds dear to me, like a river flowing through the land.

The taste of your lips shall remain with me forever, the words of wisdom though I shall not forget. If I never see you again, just remember forever is eternity into the never land.

Raven's Song
She is the night
Darkness tumbles from her feathers
She sings and stars appear
Glowing in her ebony eyes
She is all that intuition brings
and that instinct beholds

Raven's song
echoing in the dark

Be kind

Under the sky

Waiting there under a midnite sky,
they sit there on a mountain and wonder why?
She says 'Do you think it was destined to be, while
sitting here, just you and me?

Maybe this'll last forever,
or hopefully 'til we can't remember.
I love your feeling, I love your touch,
I love the way you kiss me, I miss it so much.

Someone once asked me if it was possible to fit so perfectly. Sitting here with you now, there is no doubt in my mind, it was destined to be.

Even if for a little while, sitting here just you and me.'

And there you were
As if the angels heard me cry
You cast a spark upon my soul
A feeling I couldn't deny

I couldn't show you
Though my longing was so strong
A fire that burned so deep
At the time seemed so wrong

Then you found me
Without knowing I had feelings to hide
You opened up your heart
With all your fears pushed aside

I never saw it coming
I kept the bricks high up on my wall
But you climbed that extra step
You made them fall.

Twas such a delight to see her hardened face
It was not I that was caught with such a lie that no one could besiege
To tell the truth is such a mystery
As in all tales to tell there is only one truth but multiple stories intertwined

It was such a blissful night when the lights went down
Her darkened eyes shone through like a bright light, a star in the sky
She was oh so astonished when the words thrust through my mothers tongue to tell her I know the truth

There was no denying, there was not another word
as I walked down the narrow path, wiping the single tear,
I pondered did this make me feel better, but of course it did

The story is sometimes cold
The story is very old
The story is and always will be told
