HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAPREOL

The time has come to let the cat out of the bag, so to speak. Capreol Heritage Days
this year would like to pay tribute to all people young and old who have contributed
to the growth and development of Capreol. Plans are underway to go with several
events such as a Much Music Dance for the youth, the Battle of the Bands on Sunday,
a mixed ball tournament, dance on Saturday, Town wide Yard Sale, Ella Lake
activities on Monday. More will come out about these a little later but....

On Saturday afternoon and early evening we would like to invite anyone who has lived
in, worked in, or even visited Capreol. The EVENT would start off with a Meet and
Greet about 4 followed by a dinner similar to last year with more food lines
and a bigger bar that would give us all a chance to celebrate our growth and
successes over the years by recognizing all those who have in any way helped our
community develop. The dinner would be started at 5 and tickets will be sold in
advance only. The dinner would welome all community members from the past 90 years
and include all from the youngest to the oldest. The idea would be to register to
attend ready to celebrate each other. In return all atttendees would be part of the
dinner and each person would have the chance to have their pictures taken along with
a chance to write a brief anecdote or recognition of something they remember about
their memories of Capreol.

These photos and comments would be put together with hundreds of pictures that depict parts of the history of Capreol. We would be looking for anyone to donate pictures by uploading them to our web site or bringing them to the museum for digitizing. Pictures could include class pictures, team pictures, special cel ebrations, family photos, or even just pictures that you have taken that depict some aspect of Capreol's first 90 years.

All of this along with a history of Capreol would be compiled on a CD or DVD and each ticket purchaser would get a copy of the CD(DVD) and their own miniature of our Capreol Flag as a souvenir of the weekend.

We need people to volunteer in many ways but especially in getting the word out to
anyone who has any ties to our community to come to Capreol and join in the 90th
Birthday Party for the town.
Special recognition will be made to those "Golden Builders" of our community who
have the oldest memories our our town. We would ask them to volunteer stories and
anecdotes which could be digitized and placed on the CD(DVD) and make our memory
capsule complete.

There are literally thousands of people who have been a part of our history and most
ov us have only had the chance to meet a small percentage of them. We would like to
have you assist us in putting together an
event and a memory capsule of our memories to keep and refer to in the future. We
can all remember many people who we have known in the past who have now moved on.
What a great way to try and put many of these memories together in a way that we
that we can look back at when we wish.

We have all, each in our own way, played a part in building this community so we
invite each of you to join us in celebrating our past and encapulating some of our
memories to show those who come in the future.
It should not be necessary to say that no attempts to embarass or demean anyone or
anything will be accepted because we are Capreolites, proud and standing together as
one community.

We welcome comments, suggestions (positive of course), volunteers, donations, but
most of all we would welcome your support in spreading the word to all you know so
that we can try to outdo our success of last year.
