Creepy Capreol JR
Kids Write the Darndest Things

CREEPY CAPREOL, JR. – Edited by Matthew Del Papa

CREEPY CAPREOL, JR. is a short story collection with a difference—half was written by kids and half was written for kids. The young authors ranged in age from six to eighteen and their stories contain almost everything: monsters, serial killers, deadly social media apps, unnatural shadows, zombie apocalypses, and bully-avenging ghosts. Featuring 32 original stories and poems, CREEPY CAPREOL, JR. is a (mostly) kid-friendly anthology from local small press MADCAP Publishing.

Inspired by a ten-year-old Capreol resident and incorporating the winners of Wordstock’s 2015 Youth Writing Contest, CREEPY CAPREOL, JR. includes contributions from several noted local authors including former City of Greater Sudbury Poet Laureate Tom Leduc, Kobo Emerging Author Shortlist finalist Renny deGroot, and Liisa Kovala. The adult-written entries run from fun and funny to creepy and shocking. All the stories are set in and around Capreol.

The fifth book from MADCAP Publishing (following 2014’s CREEPY CAPREOL) CREEPY CAPREOL, JR. is available at Chapters and Coles (Sudbury locations only) as well as the Northern Ontario Railroad Museum and Heritage Centre gift shop and will be on sale during CAPREOL DAYS (Saturday, July 30). It sells for $18.00 but will have a special ‘event price’ of $15.00. Look for our table downtown Capreol, in front of Lynn’s Place.
